Members of the public who want to get involved in the 44th series are being asked to submit the stories behind their items online to be considered for participation.

Successful applicants will then be invited to a recording session and have the chance to share their items with a Roadshow expert who will reveal more about the value craftsmanship, history and provenance of each piece.

The episode – expected to film this summer – will take place on a closed set with an invited audience to ensure the safety of guests, production and the public.

Presenter Fiona Bruce said: “Hopefully things will be easier this summer though life may not yet be back to normal by the time we start filming.

“So if you have an item that you’d like to bring along to the Roadshow, do please get in touch with us beforehand.”

In other Antiques Roadshow news, this guest was left gobsmacked by the value of his cigarette box shaped like a tiny safe.

One woman shut down a show expert before a VERY disappointing valuation of her glass collection.

And a long serving expert got choked up as he remembered his late mother with Fiona Bruce.

Ceramics and glass expert Will Farmer brought in a series of treasures that belonged to his family and host Fiona had to guess which he like best.
