ANTIQUES Roadshow appeared to be thrown into chaos as an audience member “fainted” on live television – but all wasn’t as it seems.

The hit BBC series – which is presented by Question Time’s Fiona Bruce – sees members of the public have their unique and treasured items valued.

Michael McIntyre was behind the hilarious skit and surprised Danny at his home

In a resurfaced clip, one viewer at home, named Danny, tuned into what he thought was a normal Antiques Roadshow episode with his wife Fiona.

As the couple watched on, he was at first blissfully unaware that some of his belongings were being valued.

They included a figurine, an antique doll, two tankards and an exercise bike.

When he clocked it was actually his figurine being inspected, he joked: “£500, that’s alright isn’t it, I paid £4 for it.”

Things took a turn when an expert was left intrigued by his “rare” doll as he put a price on it.

Danny watched as the expert said it was “marked on the sole of the right foot, if she’s one of those we’re talking in the region of £100,000”.

The eye-watering sum of money left one audience member so stunned she fainted – and went crashing to the ground in front of the cameras.

Danny was left aghast by the scenes and even rewound the clip to watch it again.

He shouted at his wife: “She fainted, did you see that?” before adding: “They’ve not done anything, they’ve left her!”

After seeing multiple belongings appear on the programme, he turned and said: “Can we just get this right, lets recap here.

“The doll is the same, the vintage flask is exactly the same, and then the two tankards are exactly the same. This is not right.”

Danny was unaware that Michael McIntyre was behind it all, after his wife nominated him for the sketch.

It was all part of the funnyman’s hit BBC show Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, as the 49-year-old was introduced on screen in disguise by Fiona.

He was described by Fiona, 61, as the show’s latest expert Seymoor Biselle as he tested out Danny’s exercise bike.

Comic Michael then revealed himself to Danny – by appearing in his living room to reveal the skit.
