AN ANTIQUES Roadshow guest was left stunned after her husband’s Teletubbies sketches were valued at an eye-watering £80k.

A woman presented drawings by her late husband, Jonathan Hills, to expert Mark Hill for examination at the Museum of the Home in London.

Expert Mark said: “We are looking at drawings which look like the Teletubbies but there is a slight difference in some of them.”

The guest said that her husband was asked to design characters for a children’s show, and that’s how she got hold of the sketches.

Mark said: “Literally hundreds of millions of children saw his work and what we are looking at here is the very start of the Teletubbies.”

The woman explained that the original characters actually looked more like bears.

The kids show was originally called Teleteddies.

When asked about the number of drawings she owned, she casually replied, “Oh, I have about 80 of them.”

Mark estimated that each drawing could sell for approximately £1,000, with some valued even higher at £2,000.

He then shocked the guest when he revealed the whole collection could be worth a jaw-dropping £80,000.

She was lost for words at the valuation.

Unable to contain her shock, she exclaimed, “Wow, that’s a lot! [Jonathan] would be absolutely thrilled. That’s great!”
